Shannon Pinto

Shannon Pinto is an American politician serving as a member of the New Mexico Senate, representing the 3rd district. A member of the Navajo Nation, she was born and raised in Tohatchi, New Mexico. Pinto was appointed to the Senate by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in 2019 to fill the vacancy left by the death of her grandfather, John Pinto, who had served in the chamber for over four decades. Her district is largely rural and includes significant portions of the Navajo Nation, stretching from Gallup to Shiprock.
