Sharif Haji is a Canadian politician serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the constituency of Edmonton-Decore. A member of the Alberta New Democratic Party, he made history as the first Black Muslim and person of East African descent elected to the provincial legislature. Prior to his election in 2023, Haji held various roles in the Alberta government and served as executive director of the Africa Centre. He currently serves as the Shadow Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services.
