Sharif Street is an American politician and attorney serving as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing the 3rd district since 2017. The son of former Philadelphia mayor John F. Street, he was the first Muslim elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate. Beyond his legislative work, he served as the chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party from 2022 to 2025. Street has focused his career on urban investment, healthcare expansion, and criminal justice reform. In 2026, he unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for Pennsylvania's 3rd congressional district.
