Shay Shelnutt

Shay Shelnutt is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Alabama State Senate, representing the 17th District. First elected in 2014 after winning a Republican primary run-off, he has maintained a conservative legislative record. Notably, in 2019, he voted in favor of legislation to criminalize abortion in Alabama at any stage of pregnancy without exceptions for rape or incest. Outside of his political career, Shelnutt appeared as a contestant on the television game show Family Feud in 2015.
