Shelby Slawson

Shelby Slawson is an American attorney, businesswoman, and politician serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 59 since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served on the Stephenville Economic Development Authority board. Slawson is notably recognized for introducing the Texas Heartbeat Act (HB1515) in the House, a significant piece of legislation that restricted abortion access in the state. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law and maintains a career as a practicing attorney and small business owner.
