Mattie Parker is an American politician, attorney, and businesswoman currently serving as the 45th Mayor of Fort Worth, Texas. Elected in 2021, she became the city's first millennial mayor and the youngest mayor among the 25 largest cities in the United States at the time of her inauguration. Prior to her mayoral tenure, Parker worked as a legislative director and chief of staff for state representatives, served as a district director for U.S. Representative Kay Granger, and held the position of chief of staff for the Fort Worth mayor and city council. Her administration has prioritized education and school reform, economic development, and infrastructure projects, including the Central City Flood Control Project. While the mayoral office in Fort Worth is non-partisan, Parker is affiliated with the Republican Party.
