Shelly Simonds

Shelly Simonds is an American educator and politician currently serving as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 70th district. First elected in 2019, she previously gained national attention during the 2017 election cycle, which involved a highly contested race and a recount that ultimately resulted in a tie-breaking drawing by lot. Since taking office, she has continued to represent her constituents in the Virginia legislature, securing re-election in 2023 with 57% of the vote.
