内舘茂

Shigeru Uchidate is a Japanese politician and businessman currently serving as the Mayor of Morioka. Born in 1966 in Morioka, he graduated from Gakushuin University before working at TOTO and later leading his family's housing equipment company, Maruno. After two unsuccessful bids for the mayoral office in 2015 and 2019, he was elected as mayor in 2023. Throughout his career, he has been active in local community organizations, including the Morioka Junior Chamber and various PTA associations. In 2025, he faced public scrutiny and apologized to the city council regarding his handling of a disaster response situation.
