Shingo Haraguchi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kurume in Fukuoka Prefecture. Born in 1960, he began his political career as a secretary to a prefectural assembly member before being elected to the Kurume City Council in 1989. Over his long tenure in local government, he served as both vice-chair and chair of the Kurume City Council. In 2022, he was elected Mayor of Kurume, and he secured a second term in January 2026 after running unopposed. His administration focuses on addressing population decline and implementing economic revitalization measures for the city.
