松井正一

Shoichi Matsui is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kanuma City in Tochigi Prefecture. Born in Kanuma in 1965, he began his career as a local government employee before entering politics. He served two terms as a member of the Kanuma City Council and five terms as a member of the Tochigi Prefectural Assembly, where he held leadership roles within the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan. In June 2024, he was elected as the Mayor of Kanuma as an independent candidate, defeating the candidate supported by the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito.
