Silviu Vexler

Silviu Vexler is a Romanian politician and member of the Chamber of Deputies, representing the Federation of the Jewish Communities in Romania. Born in 1988, he graduated with a degree in journalism from Hyperion University in 2010 and previously served as a parliamentary advisor. Since 2020, he has also served as the president of the Federation of the Jewish Communities in Romania. Vexler is recognized for his legislative focus on combating antisemitism, xenophobia, and extremism, including the introduction of Holocaust education in schools and the promotion of the National Museum of the History of the Jews and the Holocaust in Romania. In 2025, he initiated controversial legislation aimed at strengthening penalties for promoting fascist and racist ideologies, a move that sparked significant public and parliamentary debate.
