Maricel Popa

Maricel Popa is a Romanian politician and senator representing the Social Democratic Party (PSD). Born in Câmpina, he is an electrical engineer by profession and a graduate of the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iași. He built an extensive career as an entrepreneur and business leader before entering public service. He previously served as a state secretary in the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Economy, and later as president of the Iași County Council. In December 2020, he was elected as a senator in the Romanian Parliament, focusing on public investments and regional development in Iași County.
