Sofía González Cortés

Sofía González Cortés is a Chilean speech therapist, educator, and politician affiliated with the Communist Party of Chile. She served as the Presidential Delegate of the Valparaíso Region from March 2022 to November 2024 during the administration of President Gabriel Boric, becoming the second woman to hold the region's top executive office and the first under that specific title. Previously, she worked as a speech therapist specializing in child language development and inclusion programs, and she has been active in student leadership and local political campaigns focusing on feminism, environmental issues, and social inclusion.
