Sonia Kumar

Sonia Kumar is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Dudley since 2024. Before entering politics, she worked as an NHS physiotherapist. As the first woman and first person of color to represent the constituency, she has focused on issues such as public health, including chairing a backbench business committee debate on pelvic health in 2025. In 2026, she was appointed as a Cabinet Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
