Suleman Lalani is an American politician and medical doctor serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 76. A native of Pakistan, he graduated from Sindh Medical College before immigrating to the United States, where he completed his fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. A geriatric medicine specialist, Lalani is quadruple board-certified and practiced medicine for nearly two decades. Elected in 2022, he and Salman Bhojani became the first Muslim and South Asian lawmakers to serve in the Texas legislature. In office, he has focused on public safety and health, including legislative proposals to address domestic and sexual violence.
