Suman Haripriya is an Indian film director, producer, and politician serving as a Member of the Assam Legislative Assembly representing the Hajo constituency since 2016 as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Born in Guwahati to political figures Jiten Chakravarty and Bijoya Chakravarty, she holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from Jamia Millia Islamia and is associated with Assamese cinema, notably directing the film Kadamtole Krishna Nache which won Best Assamese Film at the 53rd National Film Awards. In her political career, she has drawn public attention for promoting traditional beliefs regarding the health benefits of cow dung and cow urine.
