Jin Sun-mi is a South Korean politician and former lawyer currently serving as a four-term member of the National Assembly representing the Gangdong-gu (Gap) district in Seoul. A graduate of Sungkyunkwan University, she began her career as a human rights lawyer, notably contributing to the abolition of the traditional family head system (hojuje). Entering politics in 2012, she has been a prominent advocate for gender equality, human rights, and social justice, serving as the Minister of Gender Equality and Family from 2018 to 2019. Throughout her legislative career, she has focused on issues such as digital crime prevention, the rights of vulnerable populations, and democratic reform.
