Susana Harp Iturribarría is a Mexican singer and politician currently serving as a Senator of the Republic in the Congress of the Union. Born in Oaxaca, she gained prominence as a traditional music artist, specializing in songs performed in indigenous languages such as Zapotec, Mixe, and Nahuatl. She founded the Xquenda Cultural Association to support indigenous cultural projects and education. Entering politics with the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), she was first elected to the Senate in 2018, where she chaired the Culture Commission. She assumed her current term as a senator via the National List on September 1, 2024.
