Swapan Dasgupta is an Indian journalist, author, and politician currently serving as the Finance Minister of West Bengal and a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly for the Rashbehari constituency. A prominent public intellectual associated with the Indian right-wing, he previously served as a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. Dasgupta is widely recognized for his columns in major English-language dailies and his advocacy for Hindu nationalism.
