Sylvia Lim

Sylvia Lim Swee Lian is a Singaporean politician and lawyer who has served as the chairperson of the Workers' Party since 2003. A prominent opposition figure, she made history as the first female opposition Member of Parliament in post-independence Singapore following the 2011 general election. Before her parliamentary career, she served in the Singapore Police Force and worked as a law lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic. Her political work focuses on government accountability, social welfare, and legal reform, consistently advocating for checks and balances within the Singaporean political system.
