松本尚

Hisashi Matsumoto is a Japanese politician and physician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Before entering politics, he was a prominent emergency medicine specialist and a pioneer of the doctor-heli system in Japan, having served as a professor at Nippon Medical School and vice-director of the Chiba Hokusou Hospital. He holds a medical doctorate and an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University. Since his first election in 2021, he has held various government roles, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs. In 2025, he was appointed as Minister of Digital and Minister of State for Special Missions, overseeing cybersecurity and administrative reform. He is recognized for his expertise in emergency and disaster medicine, which continues to influence his policy focus.
