Shunsuke Takei is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Miyazaki City, he graduated from Chuo University and later earned a master's degree in public management from Waseda University. Before entering national politics, he worked for Miyazaki Kotsu and Rakuten. He began his political career as a member of the Miyazaki Prefectural Assembly in 2007. First elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, he has held several government positions, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and State Minister for Foreign Affairs. Takei is known for his conservative political views and has been involved in various policy study groups within the Liberal Democratic Party. Throughout his career, he has faced public scrutiny regarding his staff's conduct and traffic-related incidents, though he remains an active legislator representing the Miyazaki 1st district.
