Tan Kok Wai is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Cheras since 1995. A long-standing member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), he previously represented the Sungai Besi constituency from 1986 to 1995. Throughout his extensive career, he has held various leadership roles within his party, including National Chairman from 2014 to 2022 and Advisor from 2020 to 2025. Additionally, he served as the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister to China between 2018 and 2020. As of the 15th Malaysian Parliament, he is recognized as the most senior active Member of Parliament.
