Tariq Anwar is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha, representing the Katihar constituency in Bihar. With a political career spanning over three decades, he has served as a member of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Anwar previously held the position of Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries from 2012 to 2014. A long-time member of the Indian National Congress, he briefly co-founded the Nationalist Congress Party in 1999 before returning to the Congress party in 2018. He is recognized for his extensive legislative experience and his role as a member of the Congress Working Committee.
