Thembeka Mchunu

Thembeka Mchunu is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly since 2019. A member of the African National Congress, she previously served as the Executive Mayor of the Uthungulu District Municipality from 2011 to 2016, where she oversaw the district's renaming to King Cetshwayo District Municipality. Before entering politics, she worked as a teacher in Zululand. Mchunu has been active in party leadership, including a bid for the presidency of the ANC Women's League in 2023.
