Thomas Hurter is a Swiss politician and former commercial pilot who has served as a member of the National Council of Switzerland since 2007. Representing the Swiss People's Party, he previously served on the Cantonal Council of Schaffhausen from 2005 to 2016. In addition to his parliamentary duties, Hurter has held the position of president of the Automobile Club of Switzerland since 2016. Before entering politics, he had a career as a pilot for the Swiss Air Force and Swiss International Air Lines.
