Timo Koivisto

Timo Koivisto is a Finnish civil servant and politician who has served as the Mayor of Jyväskylä since May 2015. A member of the Social Democratic Party, he previously held the position of Deputy Mayor of Jyväskylä from 2005 to 2015, where he oversaw urban infrastructure services. Before his tenure in municipal leadership, Koivisto worked as an administrative secretary and manager for the Regional Council of Satakunta and served as a special advisor to several Finnish government ministers, including Prime Minister Paavo Lipponen. He holds a law degree from the University of Turku and is a lieutenant in the Finnish military reserve.
