Tomás Rau

Tomás Andrés Rau Binder is a Chilean economist, academic, and politician who serves as the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare under President José Antonio Kast. Before entering government, he was a prominent academic and director of the Institute of Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Rau holds a PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and has extensive experience as a consultant for international organizations including the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. He is recognized for his expertise in labor economics and his active participation in public policy debates regarding economic growth in Chile.
