Tom Sawyer

Tom Sawyer is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 95th district in southwest Wichita. A long-serving Democrat, he has held various leadership roles within the legislature, including serving as both Majority Leader and Minority Leader during his extensive career. Sawyer first entered the state legislature in 1986 and has served multiple non-consecutive terms, interrupted by a run for governor in 1998 and a tenure on the state Parole Board. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in Kansas Democratic politics, having also served as the state party chairman.
