Tony Evers

Tony Evers is an American politician and educator serving as the 46th Governor of Wisconsin since 2019. Before his election as governor, he had a long career in public education, serving as a teacher, school principal, district superintendent, and eventually as the Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction from 2009 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Evers is known for his extensive use of the gubernatorial veto power to counter the agenda of the Republican-controlled state legislature. His administration has focused on education funding, public health, and various social policy initiatives.
