Torcuil Crichton

Torcuil Crichton is a Scottish politician and former journalist who has served as the Member of Parliament for Na h-Eileanan an Iar since 2024. Born in December 1964 and raised on the Isle of Lewis, he spent over a decade as the Westminster editor for the Daily Record and worked extensively in Gaelic broadcasting and media. A notable figure in Scottish cultural life, he has contributed to Gaelic television dramas and documentaries. Upon his election to the UK Parliament, he notably took his oath of allegiance in Gaelic.
