Torsten Schweiger

Torsten Schweiger is a German politician and engineer currently serving as the Lord Mayor of Sangerhausen, a position he assumed on August 1, 2024. Prior to his mayoral tenure, he served as a member of the German Bundestag from 2017 to 2021, representing the Mansfeld constituency. During his time in parliament, he was active in committees concerning environmental protection, nuclear safety, and urban development. Before entering national politics, he worked as a civil engineer and served as the head of the urban development and construction department for the city of Sangerhausen.
