John Trent Kelly is an American politician and retired major general who has served as the U.S. Representative for Mississippi's 1st congressional district since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Kelly previously worked as a private practice attorney and served as the district attorney for Mississippi's 1st Judicial District. Throughout his career, he has balanced his legislative duties with extensive military service in the Mississippi Army National Guard, including multiple deployments to Iraq. He currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
