A native of the Medway area, he previously served as a councillor on Medway Council for 13 years, where he held the cabinet portfolio for community safety and enforcement. Before his parliamentary career, Osborne worked in financial risk, political consultancy, and as a geography teacher. He is an advocate for LGBT rights and currently sits on the Commons Public Accounts Committee.
