
Tsega Melaku
Profile
Tsega Melaku is an Israeli politician, journalist, and community activist currently serving as a member of the Knesset for the Likud party. Born in Ethiopia, she emigrated to Israel in 1984 and later pursued a career in media, becoming the first woman and first Ethiopian immigrant to serve as director of the Reshet Aleph radio station. A prominent advocate for the Ethiopian-Israeli community, she has focused her political career on combating systemic racism, corruption, and social inequality. She entered the Knesset in 2023 as a replacement under the Norwegian Law.
