Tuncay Özkan is a Turkish politician, journalist, and writer currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly. Before entering politics, he had a prominent career in media, working as a reporter, columnist, and executive for various Turkish news outlets and television channels. A staunch Kemalist, he founded the civic movement 'Biz Kaç Kişiyiz' to protest against the government. In 2008, he was arrested in connection with the Ergenekon trials and sentenced to life imprisonment, though he was released in 2014. He has authored numerous books on Turkish politics, history, and intelligence services.
