Uğur İbrahim Altay

Uğur İbrahim Altay is a Turkish politician currently serving as the Mayor of Konya. Born in 1974 in Konya, he graduated from Selçuk University with a degree in civil engineering. Before entering politics, he worked as a project engineer and served in the military. Altay began his political career as the Mayor of Selçuklu in 2009, a position he held until 2018. He was subsequently appointed as the Mayor of Konya by the municipal council and was later elected to the office in 2019. In addition to his mayoral duties, he has served as the President of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).
