Uta Knebel is a German politician and economist currently serving as a member of the Landtag of Saxony. Born in Riesa in 1965, she studied economics at the Technical University of Dresden and has worked in the housing industry since 1996. Knebel has a long history in local politics, having served as a member of the Riesa City Council since 1994 and as a long-time faction leader. Formerly associated with the SED, PDS, and The Left, she joined the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) in 2024 and was subsequently elected to the state parliament in the 2024 Saxony state election.
