Uwe Thrum

Uwe Thrum is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Thuringia, representing the Saale-Orla-Kreis I constituency since 2019. A trained master carpenter by trade, he began his political career as a spokesperson for a local citizens' movement in Hirschberg. Thrum is a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and has gained attention for his conservative policy positions, including opposition to current pandemic management and border policies. In 2024, he unsuccessfully contested the election for the district administrator of Saale-Orla-Kreis.
