Valery Falkov is a Russian politician and academic currently serving as the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, a position he has held since January 2020. Before his ministerial appointment, he had a distinguished career in higher education, notably serving as the rector of Tyumen State University. Falkov also held various regional political roles, including as a deputy in the Tyumen City Duma and the Tyumen Oblast Duma. He is a member of the United Russia party and has been involved in constitutional reform efforts in Russia.
