Венко Филипче

Venko Filipce is a North Macedonian politician and neurosurgeon currently serving as a Member of the Assembly of North Macedonia and as the president of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM). He previously served as the Minister of Health from 2017 to 2022, a period defined by his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before entering politics, he was a neurosurgeon and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje, having authored numerous scientific articles in his field.
