Victor-Viorel Ponta

Victor-Viorel Ponta is a Romanian politician and jurist currently serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies for Dâmbovița County. He previously served as the Prime Minister of Romania from 2012 to 2015 and led the Social Democratic Party (PSD) from 2010 to 2015. A former prosecutor, Ponta has held various government roles, including Minister-Delegate for Relations with Parliament. His political career has been marked by significant leadership roles, including co-leading the Social Liberal Union, as well as controversies regarding his doctoral thesis and corruption investigations, which he has contested.
