Viliam Tankó

Viliam Tankó is a Slovak politician and professional boxer who has served as a member of the National Council of Slovakia since 2023. Born in Tomášikovo, he is of Romani ethnicity and rose to prominence as an elite amateur boxer, winning bronze medals at the 2014 European Union Amateur Boxing Championships and the 2015 European Games. He initially entered parliament representing the OĽaNO party before becoming an independent and subsequently joining Progressive Slovakia in 2024. Tankó is currently pursuing studies in social work at the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
