Vishnu Dayal Ram is an Indian politician and a former high-ranking police official currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha for the Palamu constituency. A 1973-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, he previously served as the Director General of Police for Jharkhand state on two separate occasions. Following his retirement from the police force, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and successfully contested the 2014 general election. He has since secured re-election multiple times, most recently winning the 2024 Lok Sabha election by a significant margin.
