Vivian Balakrishnan is a Singaporean politician, diplomat, and former ophthalmologist who has served as the Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2015. A member of the People's Action Party, he has represented the Cashew division of the Holland–Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency as a Member of Parliament since 2006. Throughout his career, he has held various cabinet positions, including Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports. Before entering politics, he was a medical director at the Singapore National Eye Centre and CEO of the Singapore General Hospital.
