Waldemar Żurek is a Polish politician, lawyer, and former judge who serves as the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General in the Third Cabinet of Donald Tusk, following his appointment in July 2025. Prior to entering government leadership, he had a long judicial career as a judge of the District Court of Kraków and served as a member and spokesperson of the National Council of the Judiciary from 2010 to 2018. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent defender of judicial independence and the rule of law in Poland.
