William Colton

William Colton is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 47 since 1996. A lifelong resident of his district, he holds degrees in urban education and law. Before his legislative career, he worked as a public school teacher and a licensed attorney. Within the Assembly, he currently serves as the Majority Whip and holds positions on several committees, including Rules and Ways and Means. His legislative focus has included solid waste management and local community advocacy.
