Wilma van der Rijt

Wilma van der Rijt is a Dutch politician and administrator who has served as the Mayor of Brunssum since March 11, 2020. Before her current role, she held various local government positions, including serving as a municipal councilor and alderman in Heeze-Leende, as well as an alderman in the municipality of Best. Her political career has focused on portfolios such as social affairs, youth care, education, and economic development. In 2018, she was appointed a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for her public service contributions.
