Shizuo Yamashita is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Aichi 16th district. Before his election to the national Diet in 2026, he served four terms as the mayor of Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture, starting in 2011, and two terms as a member of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly. During his tenure as mayor, he focused on urban development projects, including the construction of a new central library and the 'Komaki Children's Future Center,' while also implementing various administrative reforms and child-rearing support policies. He is a member of the Aso faction within the Liberal Democratic Party.
