Yasmin Qureshi

Yasmin Qureshi is a British politician and barrister who has served as the Member of Parliament for Bolton South and Walkden since 2024, having previously represented Bolton South East from 2010. Born in Pakistan, she moved to the UK at age nine and pursued a legal career, including roles with the Crown Prosecution Service and the UN Mission in Kosovo. As one of the first female Muslim MPs elected in the UK, she has focused on human rights, justice reform, and community advocacy. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has served on various select committees and held frontbench positions, including Shadow Minister for Justice and Shadow Minister for International Development. Her political work is characterized by her advocacy for social justice, scrutiny of government policy, and active involvement in numerous All-Party Parliamentary Groups.
